About SDTC
The San Diego
Track Club, the largest running club in the county, has a mission to
support the development of distance running, track and field, and
related sports in San Diego County. These goals are accomplished in the
following ways:
- Staging road races, track meets and
social events
- Sponsoring teams and athletes
- Providing free coaching for its members
- Offering consulting services
- Publishing the “San Diego Running”
magazine
Club membership spans a broad range from
recreational joggers to elite athletes, with the majority being
recreational runners who take in some local road races, marathons or
multi-sport events during the year.
The San Diego area offers unparalleled
opportunities for year-round fitness activities and SDTC members have a
wealth of experience in assisting people of all ages and abilities to
pursue and implement their fitness goals.
The track club’s most popular program is the
Rockin’ ‘n’ Runnin’
Marathon Training Program, which prepares novice and
experienced marathoners for the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in early
June. Its popularity has increased each year since it began. In 2010,
program enrollment reached almost 700! Once that program ends, the “Half Mad” Half Marathon
Program starts. It’s followed by the fall version, which is
dubbed the “Whatever”
Half Marathon Program. Both of those training programs are
capped at 125 participants. Each of these events is announced on our
site in advance of the program’s start, with links for registration
pages.
