Hi Bob,

Last year, I suffered for about 6 months, so a few months into 2008, after the pain became unbearable, I went to Dr. Jeffers http://www.therunningdoctor.com/
He prescribed orthodics and that allowed me to contiune running and finish RNR program too. I am pain free.

Hope this help

There is a training run at Noble Caynon this Sunday, put on by Kevin McGuinness, of Bad Rat fame (the race organizers):

Noble Canyon Trail Head at Pine Valley 0700 Sunday.
Noble Canyon Trail Head to Penny Pines out-n-back (20-miles).
Will have water staged at Penny Pines.

In the past there have 10-30 people of all levels. It is an out and back, several probably won't do the whole 20.

The only potable water is at Penny Pines, the turn around. You'll need to carry 10 miles worth of water, more if you turn back after 5 miles.
there may be more information on the web site (google it).

the guy in charge of the permit situation thought the idea of a parking like box for people to get a "track ticket " for $1.00 would be hard to implement -in other words he didn't want to put forth the effort. He feels that since the CSUSM put out $270,000 to repair the track that groups should help pay for it. I couldn't get all the groups to come together and use the track on the same day but different times, like one group 445-550 another 530-6, another 615-730 something along those lines, and then there's the pay issue some feel they shouldn't have to pay anything because its a state college that taxes etc help pay for but this doesn't include the track. the $100 a week fee they want to charge us doesn't even go to Steve Scotts' kids. Individuals can still go to the track for free. there can be no coaching ! No coach can be (should be) on the track with their group without paying the fee.he siad the campus rent a cops would be monitoring ? No group can afford this fee on a yearly basis or even during the dark months if they pay their coach. TNT might try to use it during their marathon training period but then they would probably have to collect extra from their runners.

Been having a lot of fun kickin up dust and telling stories about how fast I used to be (ha. Likely story). Anyways I need a little volunteer help on August 2ND, Saturday, show up at 6:30 AM, at Aerospace Museum.
Need 20 good course marshals tellin runners where to go, 10 water handlers, 6 mile-timers, 5 barricade/cone putum-up-ers, and a bunch of volunteers to stop them runners at the finish line. After a few miles runners just keep on wanting to run some more, you see, and it helps to corral 'em at the finish line. All neat jobs, wouldn't you say. Oh, and I forgot one other cool job. I need someone special to open and close the Dog Park Gate so that runners get through it. They tell me the dogs don't bite, although I hear it gives the runner incentive to go for a PR through Dog Park. You know how it is when a 'pouch' is a accomplished ankle-biter. I hear if you bark back they just chase you for fun. Sign up and call mike at 619-300-4612

Hi Bob,
I went to Dr Hatfield for my chronic plantar fascitis & was cured with orthotics. I really didn't want to go that route, but I was running pain-free within 1-2 weeks of getting them, after suffering for almost a year. I also have heard that there is a new laser surgery & you are walking out of the office pain free that day....might be a last resort, but worth a try if you've got the budget. He never told me not to run & that I should take up another sport & I think he has lots of experience helping runners, even though he's not specifically just a sports medicine Dr. Good Luck! http://www.drjameshatfield.com/

there's always going to be those in that crowd that's not smarter than a 5th grader who appreciate making dumb jokes about others. That aside I went to the race to watch Hector Hernandez try to repeat as the fastest runner. He was and his time was only one second off his course record. Funny his carpool mate (Edgar Lopez) ran in both the bake run at 7:30am & the pride run at 10:00am & finished 2nd overall in both races. Nice double hitter. Hextor what happened to you?
